Pierce Houghton

Pierce is a 24-year-old Hard-Surface Concept Artist and Transportation Designer from New York currently attending ArtCenter College of Design as an 8th term student, set to graduate Fall of 2025 with a BSc in Transportation Design

He is an automotive designer by trade with a personal focus on conceptual design across a broad range of fields, including aircraft and spacecraft, heavy industrial vehicles, mechs and robots, weapons and props, and environments and characters for worldbuilding.

He specializes in designing vehicles and props for media (TV, film, and video games) with a particular emphasis on integrating existing IP and narrative. His design work combines the aesthetics and themes of fictional worlds with the grounded mechanical realism and technical hard science of the real world.

When he’s not sketching behind his Cintiq, you’ll find Pierce under the hood of his 45-year-old BMW E21, collecting and listening to '80s new wave, post-punk, synthpop, and goth cassettes, reading and watching classic sci-fi, gaming, or building plastic model kits and diecast aircraft for his miniature airport dioramas (which you can check out on the blog above!)
